Malaysian’s Independence Day, also known as “Hari Merdeka” is celebrated yearly on August 31. This day honored as the independence of the Federation of Malaysia from the British Colonial Rule in 1957. Around 20,000 Malaysian people gathered at the Merdeka Stadium in Kuala Lumpur on August 31st 1957. On that day of Independence, all the Government Officials proudly shouted as “Merdeka!” seven times as the declaration of Freedom.
Independence Day Celebration by Malaysians
Malaysia is a unique and special country located in South East Asia. Malaysia is called as multi-regional country as the Malaysian Citizens are from different races and religions. Even though they are having different cultures, they work together and united generally as Malaysians.
The Merdeka Day is celebrated with dignity, signifying the unity of Malaysians of all religions. Every Cities throughout the country are decorated with flags and shimmering lights. Malaysian Office, Buildings, Vehicles proudly presented with the Malaysian Flag in a spirit of patriotism.
Independence Day is celebrated with excitements. Grand festivities and events are organized by the Government and Other Institutions. Every Citizens will join the celebrations through their own simple ways to remember the day the country gains its independence from British.
