Contribute to greener and cleaner Malaysia

Reading Time: 2 minutes

If you want to ‘go green’, recycling is the best solution. The local recycle company in Malaysia provides curbside recycle bins to households to discard materials that can be recycled. For an average Malaysian homeowner, the only effort is to discard the items by dropping them off into respective bins. Some recycle companies also offer buy-back and refund programs.

Our small efforts of recycling can make a large difference to the environment. Unfortunately, the recycling rate is very, as just  1/3 rd of trash  reaches a recycle company in Malaysia and people still discard several recyclable things in municipal trash bins.

Here are some great benefits of using a recycle company in Malaysia

Abating pollution

According recycling and environment experts, an average household in Malaysia produce 4.39 pounds of trash every day. Out of this, only 1.46 pounds go to a recycle company in Malaysia. Recycling most of these materials prevent landfill or the use of incinerator. Some waste that we discard causes green house gases like carbon which increase the effects of global warming. These forms of pollution are eventually detrimental for us. It is estimated recycling 7 million metric tons of metal can prevent 25 million metric ton of emission of green house gases. This is equivalent to the emissions caused by 5 million cars on an annual basis.

Save energy

Even recycling used products consumes energy for producing newer products. Apart from reducing consumption, reusing disposable items saves more energy than recycling does.  However, manufacturing newer products from recycled materials consumes lesser energy than manufacturing products from raw materials. A survey showed that a recycle company in Malaysia saved power that is enough to supply 6 million households for an entire year.

Protect resources

We can protect resources because recycling materials reduces the need for raw materials that are harvested and mined, it saves these precious resources. For example, metal recycling reduces the mining needs which directly destroy the environments. Mining produces large quantities of mud that is wasted. Similarly, recycling paper reduces the need for harvesting trees and cutting down them, it also saves the water resources that are used in the manufacturing process.  1 ton of recycled paper saves 17 trees. There would be not so much urgency and demand for re-forestation, as the natural trees can be protected.

Conclusion

There is a correlation between the reality and the ability of recycling. The fact that only 33% of trash was used by recycle companies in Malaysia indicates that the potential to recycle is huge. Offices, households, infrastructure companies, factories and manufacturing units produce tons of recyclable materials every day. On an average, only 25% of these materials are reaching the recycling companies daily. Despite of the efforts made by these companies, there is a serious lack of cooperation from end users. Ultimately, the ball is in the end user’s court and if they take a responsible decision to recycle then the concept can turn into a huge success. Environment activists say that the future of the planet lies in the hands of common people like us.  So, don’t you think it is time to support a recycle company in Malaysia to make the nation greener and cleaner?
