Recycle Malaysia companies are making a difference

Reading Time: 2 minutes

A World Bank report indicates that an average Malaysian discards nearly 1.64 Kg of waste every day. Waste management is an expensive affair and billions of dollars are spent in this process. Moreover, it creates landfills that take eons to be cleared up. A country like Malaysia cannot afford to give up so much land for discarded items.

Recycle Malaysia companies are contributing to the environment by solid waste management. However, the rest of the world is now wondering that why does a common Malaysian not recycle?  If every person does not make a conscious effort to Recycle solid waste then very soon we will be living in knee deep of rubbish. We have to adopt recycling as a way of life if we want to create a cleaner and greener environment.

Government contribution towards recycling

Kuala Lumpur recently implemented a recycling plan that allows the citizens to work towards common waste reduction. This process allows people to recycle common discarded products including food items. Urban housing plans are now creating recycling units within the housing development facilities. Industrial waste is being diverted to Recycle Malaysia.

Towns, like KL, Selayang and Ampang Jaya, are now installing huge collection bins for recyclable materials. As citizens, we have the responsibility to manage our own garbage. The problem about recycling is the lack of awareness for most of us. Many people think that common materials like paper, tins, newspaper, plastic and glass can be recycled. However, most of the items that we discard can be recycled and there are no exceptions.

Consumerism is a hindrance

Have you ever asked yourself that why there is such a tremendous need for recycling is there? The main cause is the increased consumer is. We keep buying things that we use for a less amount of time or even worse we never use it. Clothes are a classic example of this scenario. We keep adding on to the things that we already have and keep discarding older ones at the same time. Some of them could be in brand new condition. Increased consumerism only leads to clogging of the environment.

In case we do buy various new products, it is our responsibility to make sure that we discard the older items responsibly.

Participating in Recycle Malaysia

As an individual you can and have the power to contribute towards recycling. It starts by being a responsible customer. Think of innovative ways to reuse items that are to be discarded. For example, plastic soft drink bottles can be used to store water. They may not look pleasing to the eye but they are more practical. If you are a creative person, you can decorate these bottle using paints and old fabric, for example. That is what most recycling product manufacturers do. They convert old newspaper to candle stands and baskets and much more. There are lot of resources available online as well for do it yourself projects.

Right now we humans have a place called earth to live in. however with the kind of usage of its natural resources we may very soon lose our privileges. So join your hands with Recycle Malaysia companies to create a safe environment for ourselves.
